Install the widget

Get your embed code and put the chat widget on your site.

Get your embed code

Your embed code is on the Embed tab of your dashboard. There are two versions and you only need one.

Popup (recommended)

Adds a round chat button in the corner of your site. Clicking it opens the chat in a panel above your page. This is what most businesses want.

Inline

Drops the chat straight into the page as a block, with no button. Use it when you want a permanent chat box on a contact page.

Copy the snippet and paste it just before the closing </body> tag of your site — or into whatever your platform calls its footer or custom HTML area. It works on every page you paste it on.

One bot, many sites. The same snippet can go on as many pages and domains as you like. All conversations land in the same dashboard.

Install on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and others

The snippet is plain HTML, so anywhere you can add HTML will work. The usual routes:

  • WordPress — Appearance → Theme File Editor → footer.php, or any "insert headers and footers" plugin.
  • Wix — Settings → Custom Code → Add Custom Code, set it to load on all pages, in Body – end.
  • Squarespace — Settings → Developer Tools → Code Injection → Footer.
  • Shopify — Online Store → Themes → Edit code → theme.liquid, before </body>.
  • Webflow — Project Settings → Custom Code → Footer Code.
  • GoDaddy Website Builder — add an HTML section and paste it in.
  • Duda — Settings → Head HTML, or a custom HTML widget.

After saving, open your site in a private window. The button should appear within a second or two.

Change the button position, size and colour

On the Embed tab, above the code, you can set Button position (bottom right or bottom left), Button size, and Button color for this particular site.

These settings are baked into the snippet, so change them before you copy. If you have already pasted the code, adjust the settings, copy the new snippet, and replace the old one.

Per-site overrides. The button settings on the Embed tab override your bot's defaults from the Branding tab. That lets the same bot look different on two sites.

Set the invite bubble

The invite bubble is the small message that appears next to the chat button to draw attention. Set Invite bubble text (this site) and Show after (sec) on the Embed tab.

Keep it short and specific — "Questions about pricing?" pulls better than "Hello!". Leave the text empty if you do not want a bubble at all.

The widget is not showing up

Work through these in order:

  1. Look in a private window. Your browser and your site's cache both hold on to the old page.
  2. Clear your site's cache. Caching plugins and CDNs serve the previous version of the page for a while.
  3. Check the code is on the page. View source and search for livecustomer. If it is not there, the paste did not save.
  4. Check where you pasted it. Some builders strip HTML from ordinary text blocks. Use the custom code or footer area.
  5. Check your plan is active. If your subscription lapsed, the bot stops answering. See Account and billing.
